GEORGE TOWN: Penangites will be able to enjoy a higher discount on the Penang Bridge toll when the 18% discount comes into effect on Feb 1, says Lim Guan Eng.
The Finance Minister said those who are paying RM7 presently will be paying RM5.74 from Feb 1.
"However, those residing in Penang and registered with Plus and presently paying RM5.60 would be paying only RM4.60 after the 18% discount," said Lim in a press conference after the Chinese New Year Open House with the Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce at Setia SPICE Convention Hall in Bayan Lepas on Saturday (Jan 25).
On the improvement in Malaysia's anti-graft ranking from 61st position to 51st, Lim said the improvement was due to the serious efforts by the government to combat corruption.
He added that the index would go down further over the next few years with various measures in place to eradicate corruption.
