PETALING JAYA: Federal Territories mufti Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri continues with his tradition of giving cakes to his Chinese neighbours in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.
In a Facebook post on Friday (Jan 24), he said that despite being in Turkey, he would continue with the tradition.
"It is a tradition for me to give cakes to my Chinese neighbours during the Chinese New Year.
"This year, although Uncle Choong is no longer with us, but the tradition will continue with his family.
"Although I am still in Turkey, I was informed that the cakes that I ordered have reached my neighbours.
"May Malaysia continue to be peaceful and harmonious based on the Rukun Negara," he said.
On the comment section, many netizens thanked the mufti for his efforts to bridge ties between different races.
