MOTORCYCLISTS caught riding without helmets in Madhya Pradesh, India, were punished by having to write a 100-word essay on why they refused to wear the protective headgear, Makkal Osai reported.

Police in Bhopal are running a week-long traffic safety campaign to raise awareness of traffic laws.
