A group of youths in Tamil Nadu, India, managed to rescue a girl who had fallen into a 3m-deep borehole, Malaysia Nanban reported.
Baskar and his three-year-old daughter Gopini were visiting a relative in Puducherry when the incident happened.
The girl, who was playing outside, apparently got too close to the borehole.
Efforts to pull her out were hampered as there were steel bars in and around the hole.
The youths first dug a trench next to the borehole with a backhoe before using their hands.
They succeeded in freeing the girl within 15 minutes.
