BEAUFORT: Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Mohamad Alamin has a fighting chance of winning the Kimanis seat.
“We still consider ourselves the underdog, but I believe we can pull through as there is a feel-good factor in favour of Barisan, ” said state Umno chief Datuk Bung Moktar Radin.
He said their campaign workers had been able to reach out to many voters in the 19 polling districts so far.
“The response on the ground has been positive, ” he added.
Riding on a campaign of “ubah balik” (change back) to Umno, he said the feedback was good as many voters were already disillusioned with the Parti Warisan Sabah government’s unfulfilled election promises.
He also accused Warisan of using money politics and authority to woo voters.
“There are so many incidents of Warisan supporters pulling down Barisan buntings and flags, as well as ‘attacking’ their polling district operations centre, ” he said.
“Why is Bersih keeping so quiet now?
“When Barisan was government, they made so much of accusations about free and fair elections, ” he said.
