PUTRAJAYA: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia will discuss if Dengkil assemblyman Adhif Syan Abdullah would face disciplinary action at the party’s supreme council meeting, said its president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
He said the party has a code of ethics and disciplinary guidelines which every member has to abide by. “But whatever the case, we must act fairly because one is innocent until proven guilty.
“We will discuss the image and disciplinary aspect (of Adhif’s case) tomorrow, ” he said after attending the Home Ministry’s monthly assembly yesterday.
Adhif and four political special officers were among 17 people arrested during a raid at Puchong on Jan 13.
On the outcome of the second urine test taken against those arrested, Muhyiddin said the police are still waiting for the results from the Chemistry Department.Meanwhile, Bersatu Youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said the wing’s members who were caught in the raid have had their memberships suspended.
This comes a few days after the Youth and Sports Minister suspended an officer with the ministry who was believed to have been involved in the party.
“I view the arrests very seriously. I respect the rule of law.
“If any individual is suspected of having committed something wrong, please report them to the authorities because everyone is subject to the law, regardless of position or status, including me, ” he said in a statement.
Adhif and four political special officers were among 17 people caught at the raid.
Police discovered some powdered substance believed to be drugs at the scene.
Initial investigation also revealed 16 of the suspects were tested positive for drugs.
However, all of them, who have been released on bail, had undergone a second urine test, pending results from the Chemistry Department.
