‘Warisan leaders don’t need to resign from federal posts’

BEAUFORT: Championing Sabah’s rights does not require Parti Warisan Sabah leaders to resign from federal posts, says Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal. The Sabah Chief Minister said this in response to Barisan Nasional and Umno leaders’ questioning on whether Warisan is really a local party fighting for state rights because Warisan MPs are in Pakatan Harapan’s federal Cabinet.

For example, Umno’s Rembau MP, Khairy Jamaluddin, had said if Warisan is indeed a party for Sabahans, then there is no need for their representatives to be in the federal Cabinet, and their appointed federal ministers should resign.
