Mixed reactions to breaking up ministry


PETALING JAYA: Following Dr Maszlee Malik’s resignation as Education Minister, there is speculation that the ministry could be split into two again.

While maintaining one ministry provides synergy and continuity in policies between both levels of education and better optimisation of resources, Malaysian Association of Private Colleges and Universities (Mapcu) president Datuk Dr Parmjit Singh pointed out that the portfolio might be “just too big” for a minister and deputy minister to oversee.
