Muafakat Sabah to make its debut in Kimanis, says Zahid

BEAUFORT: The Kimanis by-election will mark the beginning of the Opposition’s cooperation in Sabah under Muafakat Sabah, says Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

While admitting there may be pessimism about the Umno-PAS cooperation in Sabah, he believed that Kimanis would herald a new era for the state in terms of cooperation among local based opposition parties.

“The national Muafakat Nasional between Umno-PAS may not work in Sabah. (But) Muafakat Sabah will begin with the Kimanis by-election, ” he told a crowd attending a Muafakat Nasional gathering at Kampung Pimping in Membakut here yesterday.
