DPM highlights positive govt measures for 2020

PUTRAJAYA: With 2020 just around the corner, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has listed some of the things Malaysians can look forward to in the new year.

The Deputy Prime Minister said beginning next year, the government would be implementing a national cybersecurity strategy for the management of online security and cybercrime to protect the public.

She also pointed out that RM10mil would be allocated for the development of women athletes, while childless couples would be able to withdraw from their EPF funds to pay for in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) procedure.

"Good husbands will also be able to show how much their spouses mean to them by contributing 2% of their EPF contributions to a separate account for their wives.

"These are just some of the measures Malaysians can look forward to in 2020," said Dr Wan Azizah in her New Year message.

The Deputy Prime Minister also pledged that the governmeny would continue to fight against graft and instil integrity and honesty in the country.

Noting that 2019 had been an eventful year, Wan Azizah acknowledged that the Pakatan Harapan government were still learning the ropes of administration.

"For 2020, let us focus on the positives. In 2020, we promise to continue working towards a better Malaysia," she said
