GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce (PCCC) is expecting more than 10,000 people to attend its Chinese New Year Open House with Finance Minister and former Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng at the SETIA Spice Convention Centre on Jan 25.
Its executive adviser Datuk Seri Choot Ewe Seng said the open house would be held from 10am to noon on the first day of the Chinese lunar calendar.
“This is the second time we are hosting this open house with the Finance Minister.
“Last year, we had over 10,000 participants at the open house and we are expecting more people to join us this year, ” he told reporters at the PCCC building in Light Street here yesterday.
The event, he said, would be graced by Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas and Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
Choot said there would be entertainment and a buffet as well as a yee sang tossing ceremony.
“We welcome everyone to join us in this auspicious celebration, ” he said.
