SINGER Nora Ariffin said her son Muhammad Syakir Alif Johan sang Salam Terakhir (Final Greeting) with all his heart and emotion days before passing away at the tender age of 20, reported Berita Harian.
Nora said Alif sang the song well, and won first prize in the UiTm Puncak Alam’s “Clash of the Talent 2” competition recently.
The song was made popular by the late Datuk Sudirman Arshad, who died in 1992 at the age of 37.
“No mother would want their son to leave (die) before them. He was a good boy. He never raised his voice when talking to me, ” Nora said.
Alif died on Dec 14 after he collapsed at home.
Alif’s death came two years after her husband, composer Johan Nawawi died of a heart attack.
