SABAK BERNAM: The police will not hesitate to take action against any party seeking to create public unrest, says Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin (pic).

He said that his men would “do the necessary” to ensure that there is no attempt to revive the Communist Party of Malaya here.

“We will take stern action against anyone who threatens order in our country, ” he told reporters after witnessing the handing over of duties ceremony of the Sabak Bernam OCPD on Friday (Dec 13).

On Monday (Dec 9), Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah reminded the people of Selangor to know their history and understand the destruction caused by the Communist Party of Malaya (CPM) from the 1940s to the 1970s.

In his address at the investiture ceremony in conjunction with his 74th birthday, Sultan Sharafuddin said he hoped none of Selangor’s people worshipped CPM leaders due to confusion about historical facts outlining the destruction the CPM caused.

The Selangor Ruler said the current generation must understand the historical facts about the CPM’s ideological struggles in depth so that they would not be misled by confusing facts about CPM’s fight.
