Mother in confinement braves flood waters for baby's safety

KUCHING (Bernama): Carolind Kongkit’s only concern was her 15-day-old baby when she was asked to move to the temporary evacuation centre at the Stapok Community Hall, after their home was inundated with flood water at 10pm on Wednesday (Dec 11).

Describing her first experience in facing such a situation, the 32-year-old mother said she had to carry her newborn and wade through the flood water in the rain and board the rescue boat to go to the relief centre.
