MELAKA: Disciplinary action should be taken against PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin for publicly disclosing details of a private conversation she had with party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, said a senior party leader.
“The integrity of such conversations must be safeguarded and not exposed in public unless she has a certain agenda towards Anwar.
“Therefore, I am suggesting that the disciplinary board take stern action against Zuraida because what she did clearly violate party discipline and ethics," said PKR information chief Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin (pic).
Zuraida had claimed during her speech at the "Shared Prosperity Vision” dinner on Sunday (Dec 8) that Anwar tried to convince her that it was PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali in the sex video that went viral in June.
The dinner was organised by Azmin at the Renaissance Hotel shortly after those aligned to Azmin's faction boycotted the final day of the party's national congress in Melaka.
Anwar and Azmin are locked in an open war within the party with Zuraida aligned to Azmin's faction.
Shamsul also criticised Zuraida for making insulting remarks towards party communications director Fahmi Fadzil and PKR Perak chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak in her speech.
“Her personal attacks against Fahmi and Farhash is most regrettable and does not reflect her position as a Cabinet Minister,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Dec 10).
Zuraida had called Fahmi and Farhash “young punks” and “mafia” at the dinner, and also accused them of influencing Anwar.
