Teen found hanged at home in Miri

MIRI: A 15-year-old boy hanged himself in his room in Miri, say police.

Miri police chief Asst Comm Lim Meng Seah said on Sunday (Dec 8) that he was found in his room on the upper floor of the double-storey house on the outskirts of the city at about 4pm Saturday (Dec 7).

The boy was rushed to the hospital by family members but an attendant pronounced him dead on arrival, ACP Lim told reporters here Sunday.

Police have classified the case as sudden death caused by suicide, he said.

The boy was living in the house with his mother and two other children.

ACP Lim said at the time of the incident, the boy was alone in his room on the second floor while his mother and two other children were on the ground floor.

He added that the investigation is underway.
