PETALING JAYA: The Home Ministry will not hesitate to act against those who disturb national peace and harmony, says Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (pic).
"Referring to several incidents lately, I urge all parties to stop making statements or actions that touch on the sensitivities of the Malaysian people," The Home Minister said in a statement Sunday (Dec 8).
He pointed out that recent incidents involving the Jalur Gemilang and Negaraku were irresponsible and unpatriotic.
Muhyiddin added that actions to remember or reignite the communist movement in this country should not occur and should be stopped.
"I view this seriously and take it as provocation to disrupt the country," he said.
Among the incidents were the use of an incorrect national flag, bringing back the ahses of a communist leader into the country and the translation of the national anthem into other languages.
"The police have started their investigations on these incidents and I have instructed that updates are given to the public in the near future.
"Strict action will be taken according to the law to all that are found to have purposely created public disorder," Muhyiddin said.
