PETALING JAYA: A housewife pleaded not guilty in a Magistrate’s Court here to a charge of cheating a customer service officer of RM5,988 for a Perbadanan Prima Malaysia (PR1MA) house that did not exist.

Mazni Mahmud, 27, made the plea before Magistrate Zhafran Rahim Hamzah.

She was charged with tricking the 22-year-old officer into believing that she was a PR1MA agent, resulting in the victim handing over the money as a deposit for a PR1MA house in Alam Damai, Cheras.

The offence was allegedly committed at a house here on March 4 this year.

Mazni, who has two children aged two and four, also pleaded not guilty to an alternative charge of deceiving the same victim into making the transaction of RM5,988 as payment for the non-existent PR1MA house.

Mazni, who was represented by lawyer Yusri Yusoff, was allowed bail of RM4,000 with one surety.

The court set Jan 14 next year for mention. — Bernama
