SIBU: Two women have given their statement to the Sibu branch of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over their names being used by certain individuals to vote at the Igan PKR division election.
Nurul Fitri Jamal, 31, and Nah Ragus, 60, filed a police report after the Oct 6 election, claiming their names had been registered as division members without their knowledge.
They also claimed that prior to the election, they were offered inducements by someone to vote in favour of a certain group.
Nurul and Nah also believe that someone had voted on their behalf at the division election.
Sibu PKR division chief Abdul Raafidin, who accompanied the two to the MACC office on Friday (Nov 29), said there were five persons whose names were registered without their knowledge and approval weeks before the election.
However, only Nurul and Nah had come forward to lodge a report.
“They want the MACC to investigate who registered them as division members. As money had allegedly changed hands, they also want MACC to investigate the matter, ” he said.
Raafidin said the duo only knew that their names had been registered as members of the division when they checked it online.
