ISKANDAR PUTERI: Former Johor mentri besar Datuk Osman Sapian has likened the state and Pakatan Harapan to a divorcee who has many children when they took over the government from Barisan Nasional.

The Kempas assemblyman noted that the divorcee had many debts left behind by her previous husband, where the new husband had no choice but to carry such a weight.

“Luckily, the new husband is not only strong in terms of experience but also in terms of spirit and the physical.

“Because of that I believe it is appropriate for the former husband to give time to the new husband to see success as he had failed in their years of marriage while we just ‘got married’ for about one-and-a-half years, ” he said during his debate on Johor Budget 2020 at the state assembly yesterday.

He, however, chided the state government led by his successor Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal who was still finding his footing to promote Malaysian Games (Sukma), which the state would host next year.

Osman warned that if Pakatan failed at organising Sukma and Visit Johor Year 2020, certain quarters would accuse the government of being weak.

“Please, do not let this happen as we still got time to do something in pulling tourists to Johor and make Sukma a success, ” he added.
