GEORGE TOWN: Penang MCA has denied taking funds from Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) for the party’s benefit.

Referring to a two-minute video posted on The Rocket’s Facebook page in Mandarin, Penang MCA liaison committee spokesman Ooi Teik Liang (pic) said the video alleging that MCA used funds from TAR UC was untrue.

He added that the financial accounts between the party and the institution are separate.

“The video was posted before the Tg Piai by-election.

“This is a slanderous video for DAP to gain political mileage.

“As the present-day government, they should bear responsibility by not twisting facts and instead use the time to study about TAR UC’s founding and solve the country’s quota system.

“TAR UC has cultivated many young talents and provided education to numerous underprivileged students in the country, ” said Ooi yesterday.

Ooi earlier lodged a police report over the video clip at the Northeast district police headquarters in Patani Road.
