PETALING JAYA: Police are on the hunt for three thieves travelling in a heavily tinted Perodua MyVi in connection with a house break-in at PJS9.
Footage of the break-in, of a house along Jalan PJS9/18, had been uploaded on a media portal's Facebook page.
The almost five-minute-long video shows the heavily tinted car moving through the neighbourhood before stopping in front of the house.
One of the thieves is seen alighting from the vehicle and ringing the bell several times.
When no one answers, another thief gets out of the vehicle and enters the house's compound while the first thief gets back into the vehicle.
The first thief then gets back out of the vehicle about a minute later and is seen entering the compound.
The two thieves are then seen getting back into the vehicle just as a silver car is seen pulling up next to them before the video ends.
The third thief is not clearly seen in the video but is believed to have been driving the Myvi.
Subang Jaya deputy OCPD Supt Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the incident occurred around 1pm on Tuesday (Nov 19).
"We received a report from the home-owner claiming that he noticed his house had been broken into when he got home around 4.40pm.
"In his report, he alleges that the house was ransacked and jewellery, electrical appliances, mobile phones and car keys were stolen," he said adding that he estimated the losses to be worth around RM23,000.
He said police have since alerted all of its elements to hunt the thieves down.
"We have also taken CCTV footage from a neighbour to help with our investigation," he said.
