GEORGE TOWN: A regulatory body to oversee the safety, development and operation of dams in Malaysia would be set up with the tabling of a Bill in Parliament at the end of 2020, said Water, Land and Natural Resources Minister Datuk Dr Xavier Jayakumar.
Dr Xavier said such a body is needed as there are 104 dams in the country, with one more than 100 years old and a few others at 50 years old.
