KOTA KINABALU: New poverty-eradication programmes will be introduced in Sabah next year by the state Rural Development Ministry, while existing ones will be enhanced, said state Minister Datuk Ewon Benedic says.
Among the 11 programmes listed are housing for the hardcore poor and poor (Program Rumah Sejahtera Rakyat), electricity supply to remote areas not under the Federal Government’s rural electricity supply programme (Program Bekalan Elektrik Luar Bandar Alternatif) and clean water supply to remote villages not under the federal rural water supply programme or Sabah Water Department water reticulation system (Program Bekalan Air Luar Bandar Alternatif).
