GEORGE TOWN: The Pakatan Harapan presidential council was not informed of the meeting between PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and several PKR and Umno MPs, says PKR vice-president Datuk Dr Xavier Jayakumar (pic).

"Several PKR MPs and I were not aware of the meeting held by Azmin," he said at a press conference after opening the International Conference on Dam Safety Management and Engineering 2019 here on Tuesday (Nov 19).

"If anyone wants to have a meeting with any parties, the Pakatan presidential council, as the highest decision-making body in the government (coalition), should be informed.

"I hope this process will be adhered to as some of us were not in the know about the meeting," he said.

Several media reported that Azmin held a meeting with several MPs at his official residence on Monday night (Nov 18). The meeting is believed to be about backing Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad against moves to oust him.
