Wee: Where have all the Cabinet ministers gone?

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (pic) has questioned whether campaigning by ministers during their office hours is permissible.

The MCA president raised the matter after noticing Datuk Seri Azmin Ali was the only minister present in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday. The Economic Affairs Minister was in the House to wind up his ministry’s reply to debates on Budget 2020.

“Where have all the Cabinet ministers gone? Are they campaigning in Tanjung Piai?

“Oh yes, of course, the 8th PM is also campaigning in Tanjung Piai.

“Heard that ministers cannot campaign during office hours, true or not? Not sure, best ask SPR & Bersih (2.0), ” Dr Wee said in a Facebook posting.

SPR is the country’s Election Commission while Bersih 2.0 is an election watchdog.

Dr Wee, who is Ayer Hitam MP, added that although he was physically drained due to campaigning, he still made it a point to attend Parliament proceedings.

He ended his posting with the hashtag #LawanTetapLawan, a phrase widely used by Barisan Nasional in the Tanjung Piai campaign.
