PONTIAN: With the verdict on the SRC International Sdn Bhd court case looming over him, Datuk Seri Najib Razak still took time to campaign for the Tanjung Piai by-election.

The former prime minister arrived at a coffeeshop here at about 9.15am yesterday to meet voters.

A group of people welcomed him with shouts of “Malu apa? Bossku” (What is there to be ashamed of? My boss).

Najib spent about 40 minutes chatting with voters and Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Seri Dr Wee Jeck Seng, and also had his breakfast there.

“The campaign will go on as usual, ” he told reporters when asked about his court case.

Najib said the Barisan campaign was getting positive feedback from the public and Barisan would continue to work hard.

Also present were Wanita MCA chief Datuk Heng Siai Kie, MCA Youth chief Nicole Wong and Pontian MP and Umno supreme council member Datuk Ahmad Maslan.
