PONTIAN: It may still be too early for Chinese New Year shopping, but the crowd and traffic jam in Pekan Nanas market area here on Sunday (Nov 10) morning was as if the festival is around the corner.

It is learnt that campaigners for the Tanjung Piai by-election - increasing by the day - have increased to several thousand this weekend - the last weekend for campaigning with polling day on Saturday (Nov 16).
