In a statement on Friday (Nov 8), Mujahid said that he believed in the efficiency of the police to investigate the case and hoped the results of the investigation would reveal the cause of death.
The pupil at an unregistered tahfiz centre in Lanchang had died with bruises on his body on Thursday (Nov 7).
Three teenagers, aged 13, who were also students at the tahfiz centre, were detained to help in investigations over his death.
