Both men got married on the same day.
Recalling a day of double happiness on May 30, 1999, the party president said Jeck Seng and he married the love of their lives on the same day.
“I remember that day very well. We did not invite each other because we were busy with our own wedding.
“People say that good things come in twos. One Wee is already in Parliament and now let’s repeat this double happiness by having another Wee there. Wee and Wee, win and win,” said the Ayer Hitam MP.
Together, he said, both “Wees” would provide a greater check and balance to the government and ensure Pakatan delivers on what they had promised.
It was necessary to have another voice of a leader from the Chinese community in the Opposition, he said at a ceramah in Pekan Nenas here on Saturday night.
Ka Siong also said that a stronger opposition would provide checks and balances to ensure the government delivers on its promises to the people.
Commenting on a Pakatan Harapan statement that voting for the coalition’s candidate Karmaine Sardini would ensure continuity of development, he said such remarks implied that Pakatan had no plans to keep their promises if they lose the seat.
“If they think voters should choose Pakatan to ensure development and that only a Pakatan representative is capable of delivering, I’d say MCA’s (Datuk Seri) Dr Wee Jeck Seng is also capable of doing the same, as an Opposition member,” said Ka Siong.
