Those looking to take advantage of incentives or exemptions in their aim of purchasing homes and properties can look forward to the last two mini-expos under the Malaysian Property Expo (Mapex) banner, in line with government efforts to boost home ownership, since the launch by the Prime Minister of the Home Ownership Campaign (HOC) in March this year. The HOC 2019, tabled under Budget 2019, was designed to encourage homebuyers’ property ownership for properties completed within the full year 2019.

Speaking at a press conference, Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association Malaysia (REHDA) Selangor branch chairman Zulkifly Garib said that since the launch of the HOC, which ends Dec 31,2019, sales of properties deemed qualified for the government-supported incentives under the campaign have gained momentum. “More than 11,000 units generating RM7bil of sales have been recorded, and this is above the HOC target of RM3bil nationwide, ” he remarked.
