DATUK Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has challenged the government to take legal action against a report claiming Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has disposed of its shares in Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) if it is false.

The MCA president said he queried Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Fuziah Salleh who refuted it, as TNB was known for making lots of returns.

“If the report is false, why is the Pakatan Harapan government and TH management not taking any legal action against the media,” he said on Facebook.

According to the media report, TH had disposed equities worth RM2.6bil over the last three months as it continues to trim its exposure to the volatile equity market.

It also reported that since the end of June, TH had disposed of its entire shareholding in nine listed companies including FGV Holdings Bhd, TNB and Yinson Holdings Bhd.

Dr Wee who is Ayer Hitam MP said the government should continue to find ways to maximise the dividend given to depositors.

“Or else, the public, especially TH depositors will feel upset with its pathetic hibah (dividend),” he said.
