KUALA LUMPUR: Nine policemen have been arrested in raids on two entertainment centres here.

Aged between 23 and 53, they were detained in an operation which started at 10.30pm on Saturday and lasted for more than five-hours, Bukit Aman Integrity and Standard Compliance Department director Datuk Zamri Yahya said. “All of them were detained for the offence of being customers at the entertainment centres,” he said.

He said disciplinary action would be taken against them for going against orders not visit entertainment outlets as instructed by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador.

Abdul Hamid had issued an order barring police personnel from visiting entertainment venues in an effort to prevent corrupt practices within the force. — Bernama
