Bringing dirtiest river back to life


Dirty record: Some of the most polluted rivers in Malaysia are located in Johor.

JOHOR BARU: Authorities in Johor will continue to work around the clock to change the status of Sungai Tukang Batu in Pasir Gudang, currently dubbed Malaysia’s dirtiest river.Johor Department of Environment (DoE) director Mohd Famey Yusoff said a joint cooperation between agencies had been conducted to clean the river.

“DoE has always worked together with other agencies such as the state Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) and the local council so that we can improve the condition of the river.“Sungai Tukang Batu is one of the most polluted rivers in our country.
