JOHOR BARU: A 31-year-old man from Myanmar was killed after falling into a plastic milling machine in a factory in the Senai Industrial Area here.
Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow said that the police received a report on the incident from the factory supervisor at about 3.49am on Saturday (Oct 19).
"The victim's friend had alerted the factory supervisor about the incident at about 11.30pm on Friday (Oct 18).
"He then rushed to the scene and found the victim lying motionlessly with his head in the machine," he said when contacted.
Supt Tok added that the supervisor contacted the Fire and Rescue department to help get the victim out of the machine.
"External injuries suffered by the victim include broken bones on the neck and his back," he said, adding that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is learnt that the victim, identified as Naing Min Wai, had worked in the factory for over 10 years and had recently gone back to visit his family back in Myanmar about two months ago.
Supt Tok said there were no signs of foul play and the case was classified as sudden death.
He also said that a port-mortem would also be conducted at the Kulai Hospital at about 10.30am.
