Eight entities agree to pay 1MDB fine


PUTRAJAYA: Eight individuals and entities who were issued compound notices by the anti-graft authority for receiving funds from 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) have agreed to pay up.This made up 10% of the 80 individuals and entities issued the notices last week, said Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Seri Azam Baki.“For now, I will not reveal the amount that can be recovered from the 10%. Some have requested to pay in instalments, ” he said.

He added that 40% of those issued the notices said they would take the matter to court, while another 45% would appeal to MACC.
