‘No report made on hotel purchase’

KUALA LUMPUR: No report was made to the authorities by the board of directors or the management of Felda Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd (FICSB), although the purchase of Merdeka Palace Hotel and Suites worth RM160mil in Kuching, Sarawak exceeded the mandate of RM100mil set by the Felda board of directors, the High Court heard.

This was disclosed by FICSB former chief executive officer Mohd Zaid Abdul Jalil, 48, when replying to a supplementary question from Deputy Public Prosecutor Afzainizam Abdul Aziz in the criminal breach of trust and corruption trial involving RM3mil allegedly committed by former Felda chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad on the purchase of the Merdeka Palace Hotel and Suites.
