Wildlife parts seized in S’wak

KUCHING: A man was arrested on the spot while hundreds of wildlife parts, including hornbill ivory and feathers, peacock feathers and bear bile, were seized in a raid in the interior town of Kapit last weekend.

“A 56-year-old suspect was caught red-handed and a report made to the police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission when he offered a bribe to the enforcement officer not to take action against him, ” said Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) chairman Datuk Len Talif Salleh.
