PETALING JAYA: The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has welcomed Malaysia’s renewed commitment to reducing and preventing statelessness in the country, in line with a global action plan to end statelessness by 2024.
UNHCR said it was encouraged by Malaysia’s continued commitment to encouraging civil registration, especially through its National Registration Department outreach programmes in rural and remote areas.
