A Form Five student from Johor won this year’s national-level English public-speaking competition organised by the Education Ministry, Malaysia Nanban reported.
Surona Andy, a student at SMK Taman Pelangi Indah in Ulu Tiram, is the eldest child of T. Muniandy, a well-known magician in the state.
She represented Johor at the competition in Kedah after triumphing at the state event.
Last year, Surona, who also speaks Hindi, Korean, French and Spanish, received the best speaker awards at the district-level UN Model Youth Assembly and a Johor youth leadership conference.
