KUALA LUMPUR: The DNA data bank has become a vital part of the police arsenal and even helped solve a 20-year-old rape case, says the Deputy Inspector-General of Police.
Datuk Mazlan Mansor (pic) said that since its inception in 2013, the data bank has collected over 100,000 DNA samples and made 60 matches that turned out to be crucial to numerous criminal investigations.
