PETALING JAYA: It’s good news for the folks in Jenjarom, Kuala Langat, as a battery plant said to be responsible for lead pollution there has been ordered to relocate to a heavy industrial area.
“This is a victory for community-based environmental advocacy against capitalists or industrialists who prioritise profits over the safety of the people and workers, ” said activist Dr Maketab Mohamed (pic) in lauding the decision by the Selangor government.
