PETALING JAYA: PKR has received Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak's application to join the party and it is under review, Fahmi Fadzil said.
The PKR communications director said Salleh had sent in his application online but a discussion would still need to be held before the former Communications and Multimedia Minister is accepted.
"The Political Bureau will discuss and consider his application and it will be brought up at the next meeting," he said.
It was reported that the former Umno treasurer had joined his former political rivals after screenshots of his approved PKR membership application was shared on social media.
Based on the shared image, Salleh is said to have been accepted as a member of PKR's Kota Belud division.
Previously, pictures of Salleh and former Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia being friendly with PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim were widely circulated fuelling speculation that they were set to become PKR members.
However, Pandikar quickly dismissed the speculation at a Malaysia Day event in Kota Belud where Anwar had been a guest.
