PETALING JAYA: The Shared Prosperity Vision (SPV) 2030, set to roll out today, will drive the nation’s socio-economic development and help to foster greater unity among Malaysians, says Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali (pic).
The Economic Affairs Minister said the SPV 2030, a brainchild of Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, would spur sustainable national development in line with a fair and inclusive distribution of economy for all Malaysians.
“Malaysia is facing uncertainties relating to the world economy due to the trade war. This Vision will make our economy more resilient.
“It will give a new injection to leapfrog the country into a high-
income economy, strengthen the people’s purchasing power and close the income and development gaps between classes, races and districts, ” he said in a statement.
Azmin said the implementation of the SPV 2030 would also foster greater unity among the people and strengthen Malaysia’s stability as a democratic nation.
“The beauty of Shared Prosperity will shine when the economic gap between income groups, ethnic groups, districts and supply chains is narrowed down in the context of an ever expanding economy.
“As a result, the SPV 2030 will be a new dawn in the New Malaysia era to defend and uphold the dignity of the people, ” he added.
