KUALA LUMPUR: The cost of performing umrah in Saudi Arabia may increase by between RM500 to RM1,000.
Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) deputy president Mohd Akil Mohd Yusof attributed the additional cost to the Saudi authorities' decision to increase visa fees, impose a 5% value-added tax, and bar direct bookings with hotel and transport operators there.
