Perak Mentri Besar's adviser Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharuddin

IPOH: State Pakatan Harapan component party leaders are reminded not to pressure the Perak Mentri Besar in making decisions over administrative matters, says Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharuddin.

The adviser to the Perak Mentri Besar said leaders from the component parties must not question Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu’s responsibilities in managing the state administration when decisions were not in their favour.

He said there were proper platforms to channel their grouses; not openly showing disrespect towards the Mentri Besar.

Zainol said this in response to Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak’s statement on Monday (Sept 16), questioning Ahmad Faizal on his function in administering the state responsibly.

“Any decision by the Mentri Besar must be respected, as he is no one’s ‘puppet’, and all decisions are made during state executive council meetings.

“There is always some issue or another being brought up as if to disrupt the administrative process,” he told a press conference at his office at the state secretariat’s building here on Wednesday (Sept 18).

Farhash had told an English daily that it was the responsibility of a Mentri Besar to administer the state responsibly, and to ensure the spirit of unity was maintained among all Pakatan party members.

He (Farhash) had alleged that this Mentri Besar (Ahmad Faizal) seemed to be stubborn in carrying out his responsibilities, and wanted to know his reason for delaying the appointment of certain local council members.

Farhash said that PKR had already submitted the names of those to be sworn in about two months ago and that there were no concrete reasons why the Mentri Besar should delay the process.

Zainol, who is also Sungai Manik assemblyman, said not all suggested names would be selected, because it depended on the collective decision made by the exco members.

He said there was no reason for leaders of the component parties to get angry over the matter.

“No one from my division was appointed as a councillor for the Teluk Intan Municipal Council, but I did not get angry.

“Such baseless and childish statements from Pakatan’s leaders can affect the state administration and planning,” he added.
