Grandma pleads for daughter’s return to care for kids

AN impoverished grandmother taking care of four grandchildren is pleading for her daughter to return to their home in Sandakan.

Bilani Mutari, 65, is working as a cleaner to raise the children, aged between four and 12.

They were left behind by their 28-year-old mother, reported Metro Ahad.Bilani last saw her daughter two years ago before she left for her job in the peninsula.

“Since the children are young, I have to work to earn an income. I’m old now. I hope my daughter will return to Sandakan, ” she said.

Her daughter used to work as a cleaner at the KL International Airport but Bilani is now clueless about her whereabouts.

The Hati-Hati, Jaga-Jaga and Mimpi Indah hitmaker said she learnt how to swim six years ago and now would go swimming at least once a week.

“Swimming is good for your health because it has an impact on stamina, body posture and vocals.

“I must swim at least once a week, ” said Amira, who is from Johor Baru.

“It requires a lot of energy and makes the whole body tired but it’s fun for me.”

Amira, the second child out of six, said that she was a family-oriented person and would return to her hometown often to spend time with them.
