'Woman in blanket' murder suspect remanded for a week

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): A man who surrendered himself to the police in connection with the murder of a woman whose body was found wrapped in a blanket in an apartment in Prima Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Wednesday (Sept 11), has been remanded for seven days to facilitate investigations.

Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din, when contacted, said the suspect, who is a local, would be in remand until Saturday (Sept 21).

He said police arrested the man after he surrendered himself at the Tampin district police station in Negri Sembilan at about 1.30am Sunday (Sept 15).

Last Wednesday, the woman’s body was found wrapped in a blanket under a pile of pillows in the apartment.

Initial investigations showed that the woman died of suffocation. - Bernama
