Bodies of two anglers found, another still missing


SIBU: The bodies of two of the three anglers who went missing during a fishing trip in Pulau Sari Besar, Lawas, have been found.

Yeu Chee Tiong, 30, Farouk Arina Ahmad Sabri, 29, and Mohamad Amirul Bakar, 28, went out to sea in a borrowed boat at around 6am on Monday.

After failing to contact them on a handphone at 8pm, the owner of the boat alerted the police.

A search and rescue operation was launched and Yeu’s body was found at 8.35am on Tuesday at Sungai Labi-labi.

Lawas district police chief Deputy Supt Roslan Leman said Farouk Arina’s body was found at 11.30pm.

The search for Mohamad Amirul continues.
