Sibu cops on the hunt for drug addict who allegedly stabbed drug rehab centre officer


SIBU: Police are on the hunt for a man who allegedly stabbed an officer with the Sibu National Anti-drug Agency.

Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the 19-year-old suspect, Raymond Bakak Kinsing of Bandar Permai Jaya, Miri, was detained while being treated for drug addiction at the agency's drug rehabilitation centre in Jalan Ulu Lanang here.

He said at about 8.30pm on Sunday (Sept 1), the suspect took out a knife and stabbed an officer on his chest.

The suspect fled after the attack.

"The victim is being treated at the hospital for a chest injury," he added.
